Hot Chocolate

It’s snowing here in Baltimore!! So it was obviously time to break out the big mugs and try a new hot chocolate recipe. This recipe also marks my first Sips post, sorry I’ve been favoring the Noms! I found this one on the blog A Beautiful Mess – they have great recipes as well as decor and craft ideas. This hot chocolate is not as sweet as most, but it’s very chocolate-y and the cinnamon adds a nice touch. At some point I want to try to make some fluffy marshmallows to add to the mix.

Ingredients (makes 2 servings):

  • 3 cups milk
  • 5 oz chopped dark chocolate
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • A small pinch of cayenne
  • Optional: A stick of cinnamon and marshmallows

Heat the milk and chocolate in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Once the chocolate is melted and everything seems homogenous, turn off the heat and add the cinnamon and cayenne. Pour and enjoy!
